The Wall Street Journal Says Boys Wear Skinny Jeans! Who knew!

BREAKING NEWS: Holy shit! The WSJ have just discovered a brand new trend: boys wear skinny jeans!

That video is amazing, if not for all the dummys they interviewed ("I ripped my skinny jeans at a Vampire Weekend show" and "I've been wearing skinny jeans my entire life"), but for the fact that the reporter doesn't even leave the corner of the Bedford L stop. It's like he's a war zone reporter - keep close guys, we don't want to wander too far from the safety of the train, we're in Brooklyn now. You might get mugged, or even worse, offered cocaine! - thanks Apex!

In all seriousness, don't they have better things to report on than boys in skinny jeans? They have an entire article on it!

Mashups for Phoenix's "Lisztomania"

Ahhhh, dancing on Brooklyn rooftops...this is all I want to do, all summer long!

This gorgeously shot video is the *Brooklyn Brat Pack Mashup' for Phoenix's song Lisztomania. It's a tribute video to the 'Phoenix - Lisztomania *Brat Pack Mashup* video.

BK brat pack mashup director, Ian Parker, explained the reasoning behind the tribute to the tribute best: "We did it for the summer, for friends, sunsets, and social propaganda experiments, for the sake of global cultural education. and pop music." (via FREEwilliamsburg).

Summerscreen - Free Movies in the Park!

Yaaaay, L Magazine's Summerscreen is back!! This year the movies aren't at the pool (duh, because it's closed, *tear) but at the McCarren ball fields. Not exactly sure which ball fields, but I'm sure it won't be hard to spot the giant movie screen and tons of kids gathered round.

The free summer movies get off to a start at dusk on July 8th with Reality Bites and go till August 12th with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Here's what the schedule looks like:

July 8: Reality Bites
July 15: Evil Dead 2
July 22: 24 Hour Party People
July 29: Wild at Heart
August 5: Fame
August 12: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

50 People, 1 Question - Brooklyn

Fifty People, One Question: Brooklyn from Fifty People, One Question on Vimeo.

This is a cool sort of social experiment, where a bunch of people were asked the same question on the street in Williamsburg. The answers vary but they're all equally interesting.

My answer: the very first thing that came to mind for me was here, in Brooklyn. But not now...I want it be a Sunday morning, late June. The kind of day where the weather is just perfect - breezy, sunny and warm, but not too hot. I'd ride bikes to the park on Kent and n.9th by the water, lay out a blanket and have a picnic.

That sounds so nice right now.
