All I Have To Say Is...

NO.

"Manny hose" should be illegal, especially on this guy. That said, where can I get those tights??

Poster Boy Got Caught...Er, Maybe?

Gawker tells me that PB, aka Henry Matyjewicz, got arrested the other day at some sort of festival, where he was profiled in a documentary.

But apparently, Poster Boy isn't one person, its a "movement": "Henry is one of many individuals who believe in the Poster Boy movement. Henry’s part is to do legal artwork while propagating the ideas behind Poster Boy. That’s why it was O.K. for him to take the fall the other night. Henry Matyjewicz is innocent.”

A movement? How artsy and idealistic.

That said, they have made my walks through the Lorimer stop more interesting. Here are some examples of their work. Kate Moss is my favorite.

I Want.

I told my mom I loved these sunglasses over at Shop Nasty Gal, and maybe hinted that I needed them as a Valentine's Day present. She totally came through - they're in the mail! Love.

And if you aren't aware of ShopNastyGal yet, I suggest you lurk over there for a bit. Super cute vintage stuff and some new goodies!

Michael Phelps is in good company

As you all know by now, a photo of my personal hero Michael Phelps smokin' the reefer was leaked and now everyone is freaking out and he's probably wicked paranoid. Jezebel made a list of 35 celebrities who also enjoy the whacky tobaccy, and I was suprised to learn about a couple. I think they should all join forces and stick up for Phelps! But you know if they got together they would just get super stoned and forget all about it... Check it out the list here!

I <3 NY, Lego Style

Erykah Badu Twittered While Having Babies!

So Ms. Erykah Badu did some ho shit and had a kid at her home in Brooklyn the other day. Her and her baby daddy decided to take it to the next level and went where no other famous person has gone before - they twittered about it. Overshare.

Go on over to Pitchfork to read allll about it.

That said, I love Erykah Badu. She's a bit crazy and weird, but that's why I like her so much. But really, twittering during birth, ew.

Anyways, reading about her twitter fest reminded me of this amazing video of Erykah, explaining how a girl can make it in the music industry. Pretty much everything she says is a total gem, but my favorite line might be, "If you wanna make it, just get buttnekid somewhere, buttnekid with glitter on ya and a beeper."

Just watch the video, at least so you get my 'ho shit' reference from earlier.

Crazy Eyes

This is a hilarious clip from Animal Planet's "It's Me or the Dog". Just give the pooch a damn cupcake!

New Matt & Kim!

Cute new video for Matt & Kim's new song "Daylight" off their new album Grand which is named after Grand St. in Williamsburg.

Sad Story, Funny Video

A Connecticut news channel ran a story on a new suspect in the case of Molly Bish who has been missing for 8 years. You wouldn't think this would be a funny story by any means, and it is not. But trust me, this video will make you laugh.

Damn You Punxsutawney Phil

Groundhog Day really is one of the most ridiculous traditions in this country. Especially when this little fucker tells us we have six more weeks of terrible winter to look forward to.

A Nice Little Push Up Bra

Mmm, Bacon.

Bacon air freshener.

Bacon Gumballs.

Bacon wallet.

Who knew? There's bacon everything out there. The air freshener is a bit of a tease though, no?

It's back!

"WHAT. THE. FUCK? 5 minutes after I met this guy he dumped a giant beer on my best friend, called her a “fat bitch” several times and threatened to beat up her boyfriend. He’s covered in these god awful satanic tattoos and when we got to his place he made me watch Sixteen Candles and listen to a bunch of gangsta rap. He slapped me around and choked me the whole time we boned, then he held my hand and walked me to the train in the morning. I’m still confused."
I saw this website the other night and thought it was one the best blogs I've seen in a while. Chicks (mostly in NYC) can send in photos and stories of dudes they have slept with that were dicks or just really bad lays. These get posted with the photo and only a black bar over their eyes. It's pretty hilarious, and I totally considered sending in a submission or two of my own. However, the site got shut down pretty fast. It was only up for like, 4 days. I guess, Tumblr (the blog host) wasn't a big fan of the idea and it's minor vulgarity. But, it's back! Right here. Check it out for a good laugh. Also, I'm pretty sure I know at least 2 of the guys on here.

messed up.

Dreamy.

Love it.

Stole this from my roommate Will's blog. Thanks, boo.

Breastfeeding On Your News Feed

Apparently women will fight for their right to post photos of themselves breastfeeding their kids on Facebook. Facebook has banned any such photos because any photo of an exposed booby violates their terms of use. Duh, lady.

No one wants to see these photos, and I'm sure when these kids are grown up they would not appreciate having photos of them sucking on their moms tits exposed to the Facebook world. Or maybe when these little babies become slutty teenaged notches they will use it in defense of sending naked pictures of themselves around online? Could be a valid argument.

Happy Birthday Alex!

The Real World: Brooklyn

So if you haven't been watching the new season of The Real World, I highly suggest you start. The Daily Notch doesn't just love it because it takes place in our beloved Brooklyn, but also because the characters are pretty interesting and amusing.

Especially Ryan. I heart Ryan, and I know certain Notches don't share these feelings. I mostly like him cause he makes the best facial expressions which cause me to giggle out loud (GOL) while I watch him and Chet singing in boats like drunken gay sailors. (Ryan is NOT gay though, Chet is.) So here is a video of uber-talented Ryan singing a song called Bromance to Chet via his youtube account.

UPDATE; more poor decisions for Wii owners.

This is a new weight designed to fit over your Wii remote so that people can pretend they are getting a workout when they are really sitting on their asses playing video games.

People, this is a bad idea. As we have seen, it is pretty tempting to throw your Wii when you are playing games that simulate certain actions. This weight thing is a pretty sure-fire way to break your tv.

Hmm, What Do You Think This Looks Like?

Exactly. Phallic much?

This dress is from Alexander McQueen's Pre-Fall 2009 Collection. I'm not a big fan of this dress, not because it looks like a big ole you-know-what, but because it's just ugly.

Actually, I guess this dress would work quite well if you had real fat calves, but for everyone else, it a no. Thumbs down.

Bye Bush!

This makes me giggle.

On top of the the fact that Veet managed to make an ad for hair removal products funny, dirty and political at the same time, the placement couldn't be better.

The foundation of any good relationship? Really?

I don't think my notch agrees with this lady.

Big Boobs Save Lives!

Haha, of course a man would write this article.

And cleary, this "doctor" Karen Weatherby smokes crack. Because as lovely as big boobs are, staring at them for 10 min. is not equivalent to 30 min. of aerobic workout, no matter how you look at it. Nice try!

Bowling Fail

Oh no!

Cute boy. Fake arm.

The iLimb is a new prosthetic arm that looks, feels, and acts like a real human limb. It was developed by a Scottish company, Touch Bionics. It's already won Time Magazine's invention of the year 2008.
The boy in this video, Evan Reynolds, 19, had his arm amputated after a car accident in a parking lot with a friend. The new arm is pretty amazing. It can grip like a real hand, and is controlled by the wearer's brain, so all they have to do is think about moving and it responds.

The truth.

Gummy Bears give good lighting.

This is a chandelier made from thousands of gummy bears by artist YaYa Chou. I can't even imagine how long it took to make this. They're all individually hand strung. The bears give off a surprisingly pleasing warm glow. I want it.

And here we have a gummy bear Bearskin rug. Also sewn from the little ones. Again, I die.

Kid gets Wii for Xmas

WARNING! This is loud. Turn your speakers down if you're at work.
This is a video of a kid getting a Wii for Christmas. At first he looks like he's in shock, but then is overcome by joy. It's pretty funny. I think I need to learn that dance.

A sweet valentine's day recipe

These cookies are so cute I almost squealed! No wait, I did squeal. Make them and give them out as super sweet Valentine's gifts. Although, I am going to make them with naughty words mixed in.

Ingredients

• 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour, plus more for surface
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 4 ounces (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 large egg
• 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
• Royal Icing
• Gel-paste food coloring (such as leaf green, lemon yellow, peach, red, rose, and violet)

Directions

1. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Cream butter and sugar with a mixer on medium speed until pale and fluffy. With mixer running, add egg and vanilla. Reduce speed to low. Add flour mixture gradually, beating until just incorporated. Divide dough in half; flatten each half into a disk, and wrap each in plastic. Refrigerate until firm, at least 1 hour (or overnight).
2. Preheat oven to 325 degrees with racks in top third and lower third. Let 1 disk of dough stand at room temperature just until soft enough to roll, about 10 minutes. On a lightly floured work surface, roll out dough to just under 1/4-inch thickness, adding more flour as needed to keep dough from sticking. Cut out cookies with a 2-inch heart cutter, and place them 2 inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Roll out scraps once, and repeat. Repeat with remaining disk of dough. Freeze cookies until very firm, about 15 minutes.
3. Bake cookies, rotating sheets halfway through and switching from top to bottom, until edges turn golden brown, 14 to 16 minutes. Let cool on sheets on wire racks. Cookies will keep, covered, for up to 1 week.
4. Divide royal icing into 1/2-cup portions in small bowls. Tint each with a different gel-paste food coloring, starting with just a drop, mixing well, and adding more, drop by drop, to reach desired shade. Transfer 1 bowl of icing to a pastry bag fitted with a 1/8-inch round plain tip. Pipe the outline around edge of each cookie, then fill in with frosting. Poke air bubbles with a toothpick. Transfer decorated cookies to a parchment-lined baking sheet, and let stand uncovered overnight until dry.
5. Arrange stamp letters to create desired phrases. (We stamped LUV U, UR A QT, BFF, LYLAS, B MINE, and 2GTBT.) Fold a paper towel into quarters. Squeeze a small amount of red gel-paste food coloring onto a paper towel, and press stamp in coloring. (You may need to blot stamp a few times on a clean paper towel if coloring is too thick.) Lightly press stamp on top of icing in center of each cookie. Let stand until dry, about 30 minutes. Stamped cookies will keep, covered, for up to 3 days.

Helpful Hint

We used a Cosco 2000 Plus Custom Stamp Kit (No. 614107), $24.99, from Staples.

Once iced, these cookies need to dry completely overnight before being stamped with a message for your sweetheart.

Healthcare supported flasks

So I was browsing flasks on Target.com the other day (they have like 600 choices) and came across this little gem. This, my friends, is a cane flask that unscrews from the top so you can either;

1. Be an old drunk hobo who can't walk

or

2. Start out walking and get so drunk that you will need a cane to support you.

The best part about this item is the description at the bottom that says "This Item May be Eligible for Reimbursement from Your Health Plan or Taxes." Sweet! Who says HMOs are unsupportive?

Most of you by now have probably heard about the US Airways plane crash landing in the Hudson River yesterday. When I got out of work yesterday I went down to Chelsea Piers and the plane was floating right by so I got to take some photos. It was madness down there and really gave me a newfound respect for cops, EMT's, firefighters, and the like. I can't imagine in a situation like that remaining calm and level-headed. It also made me think of 9/11, I can't even fathom what that was like. But... on a lighter note, everyone got out of the plane alive and well and the pilot is totes a hero!!

Viva la Golden Girls!!

OMG, I die!

Jason Mecier just got better - he did a mosaic of the golden girls. Brilliant!

If you know anything about the Daily Notchettes, you know that we <3 Golden Girls. We even dressed up as them for Halloween and we looked amazing, if I do say so myself.

Guess who is who.

The Whopper Sacrifice

Burger Kings marketing people are genius.

They've come up with a Facebook application called the Whopper Sacrifice. You install it on your Facebook page, de-friend 10 people, and volia! you get a free Whopper! Who needs friends when there are free burgers to be had?

Be warned, whatever friends you sacrifice for the Burger go on your News Feed, in typical over-sharing Facebook fashion.

So my fellow Notch bloggers, don't be offended when you see on your news feed that I've sacrificed you for the Whopper. Just know it's nothing personal.

Burton's Been Naughty

Burton is causing quite a ruckus up in Vermont these days for using pics from Playboy of half naked girls as the graphics on their 'Love' boards this season.

I get why people are a little upset, but seriously, a little nakedness never hurt anyone. And besides, they blurred out the naughty bits. People threatening lawsuits against Burton for it? Please.

That said, Burton totally stole the idea from Sims Snowboards, who a few years ago, teamed up with porn company, Vivid Videos, who used porn stars for their board graphics.

That's definitely Jenna Jameson on the left of this Sims board.

Rad Pop Art

Jason Mecier is super talented. He collects a bunch of junk and then makes mosaics of mostly famous people with them. See, Mariah here is made of all makeup - how appropriate. Click here to see a close up.

And dear god, imagine how messy it must have been doing that background with eyeshadow pieces - broken eyeshadows are the worst to clean up.

Speaking of Mimi, "Always Be My Baby", summer anthem of my childhood? Definitely. Ah, the memories. "You and iiiiiiiiiiiiiii will aaaaaaaaaaaaaalways beeeeeeeee"
