Paper Mag's 'Rebranding America'

I picked up Paper magazine this weekend to read on the train back up to NYC. I came across this really interesting piece by Kim Hastreiter called 'Rebranding America', in which they asked 15 of their favorite visual communicators (artists, advertising agencies, graphic designers, etc) to redefine America's image:
"Right now America is like a company teetering on bankruptcy -- we have lost so much credibility and brand currency over the past eight years. And so we invited some of the best visual communicators we know (from ad gurus to artists) to create original advertising concepts that could redefine our country's image. Welcome to U.S.A. 2.0."
There were some really great faux ad campaigns, so I thought I'd share my favorites...

Dan Wieden, Wieden + Kennedy 12 (W+K12) - The simplicity of this design and message is sweetly fantastic.

Ivan Chermayeff & Geismar - This design is just fun and exciting.

Peter Buchanan-Smith - The message is a bit too apologetic for me, but nonetheless, the message and design are quite clear and well executed.

'
Kevin Roberts, Saatchi & Saatchi - "America's future. It's in our hands."

Kevin Roberts, Saatchi & Saatchi - "The US. Because we are all stronger when there is no them." - I really liked the concept of this ad, but wish it was done in color, like this ad, to be more impactful.
